Good accomodation in a sketchy area

Pros: - the host was very friendly and easy to communicate with; - facilities were excellent; - it is close to Intramuros; - there is a convenience store near the accomodation;

Cons: - small cockroach issue, but this is common all over Manila; - although intramuros is close and you can walk there, the area is full of trash, homeless people and horrible smells(not a pleasent walk); if you only use taxis, this is not an issue;
